Aims: To introduce owners and their dogs to ‘clicker’ training, a humane and stress free method that is suitable for dogs of all breeds and ages. Training should be fun for both you and your dog. Using clicker training is the best way to ensure that this is so. You will primarily learn how to teach your dog new behaviours – in this beginner course we introduce the following behaviours: response to name, sit, down, leave it, loose lead walking, recall, settle on a mat, sit and down stays and wait. The techniques learnt in teaching your dog these behaviours can be applied to teach other desired behaviours in the future. We limit our classes to a maximum of eight dogs with an instructor and at least 2 assistants so that every one gains the maximum benefit from the instruction. A visit to see a class in progress can be arranged, please phone Kathy Johns on 0118 975 6072.
